NJEPA Attendee Hotel Scam Warning

We have learned that a third-party company has contacted some of our vendors claiming to be able to provide discounted/special hotel rates during the conference. As with many larger conferences and trade shows, third parties are contacting NJEPA attendees and exhibitors, claiming to represent the NJEPA (and/or leaving out important information so that it’s ambiguous whether they represent NJEPA), and referencing NJEPA Conference attendee lists.

The only agencies you may be dealing with for conference-related items are the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino or Vista Convention Services.  Contact by any other third party soliciting as the “official” NJEPA or NJEPA Conference agent, offering special non-refundable rates at Hard Rock hotels, and requesting credit card information should be considered a scam. All attendees and exhibitors should be aware that no one from the NJEPA or Hard Rock, solicits directly by telephone for hotel bookings or special discounts.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is the only official company to book a hotel room for our conference.  You may book at the link on the hotel website page which will lead you to Passkey (https://book.passkey.com/event/50599692/owner/49899473/home) or contact Hard Rock direct at (609) 449-6860

Exhibitor Lead Retrieval “Badge Scanners” at the Conference: Exhibitors at the conference may scan badge QR codes using their cellular device or tablet, which does give them your name, title, email and phone number for those attendees who verbally consent to having their badge scanned at an exhibitor’s booth.

If you receive a suspicious email or phone call and want to verify, you can email us at info@njepa.org or call us at 609-548-8357.  Email preferred. FYI phone calls will be returned within 24hours.

Registration is open for our 25th Anniversary Conference!

Our first program was run in 1999 as the Hurricane Preparedness Seminar. It was a single day event to promote local issues to coastal area emergency managers hosting approximately two hundred people. Shortly after we expanded to the two-day New Jersey Hurricane Conference.

The events of 9-11-2001 changed our industry and our communities. The conference developed into the New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Conference to meet these changing demands.  Providing a broader range of training and to the first responder community and the private sector emergency preparedness.

For our 25th anniversary we are expecting over 1,500 attendees over five days of training, breakouts, and special events with over 75 vendors supporting our conference.  We look forward to seeing you on the Boardwalk in 2024!
