The New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association will be awarding scholarships for the
2024-2025 Academic Years

Scholarship Eligibility:
  • The applicant, applicant’s parent(s) or grandparent(s) must be members in good standing in any emergency service department in the State of New Jersey. Emergency services agencies include any police, fire, rescue, EMS, or emergency management. Any other affiliations with an agency that performs emergency or disaster response, and recovery operations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • A high school senior, planning to attend college, or current college student presently enrolled in a college or university with at least one full year remaining.
  • A citizen of the United States of America.
  • Willing to pursue a career path in the emergency services field such as emergency management, homeland security, fire suppression, law enforcement, hazardous materials, arson investigation, Emergency Medical Services, Health, Public Health, Social Services, etc.
  • Scholarship recipients are required to be present at the time of presentation, which will occur at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City, NJ on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, beginning at 5:30 PM. If the recipient is unable to attend, an email must be sent to the Scholarship Committee telling us that the recipient has other commitments that cannot be changed.
  • Past NJEPA Scholarship recipients are NOT eligible to receive another scholarship.

Selection Process
All applications must:
  • Be received by electronic submission. 
  • Include a current transcript(s) and at least one Letter of Recommendation. You may also add any other supporting documents you would like to have considered..
  • Applications must be received by the application deadline; March 10, 2024. Any application received after this date will not be considered for a scholarship.
All applications are reviewed for eligibility and to ensure that all supporting documentation has been received. The selection process is designed to ensure fair treatment of all applicants.
The NJEPA has a standing committee of experts in the emergency management field who review the scholarship applications.  Each committee member ranks the scholarship application based on the merits of the individual applying for the scholarship.  The scholarship committee recommends the slate of applications for the award of the NJEPA memorial scholarship.

You can “Save and Continue” to continue working on or view your submission. But you must “Save and Submit” your application in order for it to be received.
